"July 2022 - Well suited for overnight stays - meadow area. Access well signposted. Sanitary facilities basic but clean and fully functional, electricity available. Shopping possibility on foot approx. 5min. - Also takes euros! Stobi can be reached by car in 15 minutes.

"prachtig uitzicht vanaf camping - Kleine camping aan rand van dorp. Licht hellend grasland met weinig schaduw. Boompjes zijn geplant maar nog klein. Nieuw eenvoudig sanitair-gebouw halverwege camping en sanitair + keuken in huurappartement. Erg behulpzame eigenaar die goede tips heeft voor wat er in de omgeving te zien is. Gratis wifi. Voor maar 5 euro p.n.

"More than just a place to stay overnight - The data in Nawi is correct. Unfortunately, the direct route is closed due to the new FUZO. The village offers a wine museum and many leisure activities. Aleks is very helpful.

"Simple but lovely and very welcoming - We came for climbing and had a lovely 2 1/2 days here. Demir Kapija if off the beaten track, feels wonderfully authentic and is super-friendly. It offers great opportunities to sample Macedonian life and food first-hand, as well as birdwatching, nature walks, clear streams and plenty of climbing, caving and via ferrata hikes. Alex is super-welcoming and helpful, and great as a guide and coach. We'll have to come back!

"Alternative ambience - The "Rockland Camp" is a sloping, poorly mown meadow behind a small house in a purely residential area. There is no one at the GPS coordinates given. The key to the house (with sanitary facilities, kitchen and vacation apartment) can be obtained from the owner's house, who lives about 1 km away. You should call the owner (Aleksandr Klenov) in good time (tel. +38 970 34 34 01) and make an appointment with him in the village (possibly at the train station). The site is very simple and alternative, but it has two ladies' and two men's toilets and the same number of showers. Everything is satisfactorily clean. The site has no shade. In the village of Demir Kapija there are stores (the nearest one is about 500 m away) and restaurants. There is a nice swimming opportunity in the small river with very clean water. Aleksandr Klenov is a professional climber and has a lot of tips for leisure activities, especially in the outdoor/climbing area; he speaks English quite well. The site is very reasonably priced at €5/person.

Profil

Convenient location of Rockland camp allows for travelers find it easily, and use it for stop point on the way to (or out) Greece, through the Macedonia. Rockland camp it's a place about 6000 m², located in the pretty town …Demir Kapija. On the land of camping there are one guest house and summer kitchen, where you can prepare food and have a rest. In guest house there are: one common room with two-storey beds for 6 persons and one communicating room with a sofa for one or two person, the kitchen with a refrigerator, gas stove, crockery and all necessary appliances, two toilet blocks with showers (for male and female). The nearest shop is about 5 minutes walking. In the city center there are few cafes, supermarket, pharmacy, ATM, shops, bus and train station and it's about 20 minutes walking. Demir Kapija is the place for rest and outdoor activities. You can go climbing, mountaneering, hiking, fishing, rafting and swiming here. There are two popular wineries in Demir Kapija, where you can try exellent wine and traditional food.

From the highway Skopje – Athens (E-75), by the pointer to Demir-Kapija (Демир-Капиjа), you should enter the town and go there by the main street to the bridge about 1 km and 400 m. Then continue your way through the …bridge and by the main road, and turn right. After less than 100 m turn left, continue your way about 500 m and then again turn right. After 100m will be Rockland camp. The distance from Skopje is 117 km, which takes about an hour by car or two hours by train ‘Skopje – Gevgelija’. Distance to the border with Greece is about 80 km. The nearest international airports are: in Skopje (Alexander the Great Airport), in Ohrid (Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport, 195 Km), in Thessaloniki (International Airport “Macedonia”, 121 Km).
