- Rena R.September 2015Good place with potentialDifficult to find, signs only in South Shields; sanitary facilities recently completely renovated, small but very clean; staff very friendly. Bus and metro can be reached in 20 minutes. Newcastle is not recommended, if you still have time before the ferry, it is better to visit the Beamish Museum near Durham (also accessible by bus). No store on the CP, nearest TescoExpress 10 min walkAutomaticky preložené.
- Heike B.July 2012Before we had to take the ferry back to the mainland, we visited the campsite for one night. Very nice staff, very clean site, but no atmosphere at all, long detour to the beach all the way around the outside. However, the beach itself was great for our children (2.5 and 5.5)!Automaticky preložené.
- Karl Thomas K.July 2011Although the ferry port is within sight, it is on the other bank of the Tyne in Northshields and it takes just under half an hour by car to get to the campsite in Southshields. In typical English fashion, the campsite has a large number of mobile homes. The site makes a clean impression and the reception... is very friendly. The pitches have probably only recently been completely renovated. They are flat and very generously laid out and partly gravelled and partly concreted. Electricity connection included in the price. We did not use the sanitary facilities and therefore cannot rate them. On our trip to the north of England/Scotland, the pitch was the most expensive at £33 for 2 adults and 3 children. The metro can be reached on foot in 20 minutes. However, the metro still takes just under 45 minutes from Southshields terminus to Haymarket station in the center of Newcastle.Automaticky preložené.
- Gunter R.June 2007The site, which we often use, is located directly in front of the beach, separated by a road. It is about 20 minutes from here to the GB/NL ferry. South Schields is a town with harbor facilities and stores. Entertainment along the beach promenade ends in the evening! The train to downtown NewCastle uT... is recommended. There is entertainment on the doorstep to the beach, the kids will thank you! The service on site is friendly and helpful. Book in advance with Bankholiday! The sanitary facilities are a bit older, housed in a "container" but clean even at peak times! There are large supermarkets in the village, which you can also reach with motorhomes. There are well-maintained footpaths from the campsite through the extensive dunes to the lighthouse. The view from the high cliffs over the sea is great for watching the ships.Automaticky preložené.
