- Y. K.April 2023PozitivnoVery nice campsite and very nice staff.NegativnoAnyone who wants to use the toilet or even take a shower here will feel a shiver of disgust run down their spine. The showers are often not clean, there is mold on the ceiling and in the tile joints and the paint is peeling. And don't even get me started on the two old wash houses. The table tennis tables have been broken for years and the playground should definitely be overhauled. It's a shame that this campsite is apparently only used as a money-making machine by the operator (municipality) and that no adequate investment or maintenance measures are being carried out. The cleaning staff can't keep up with the cleaning - especially in the high season. They are clearly cutting corners here.Beautiful square, dilapidated facilitiesIt is a great pity that the municipality, as the operator of the campsite, is not investing anything and the site is therefore falling into disrepair.
On the other hand, the prices are increased every year. That is income that the local authority is sure of. Let's see how long the permanent campers will put up with this...Samodejno prevedeno. - Tadeusz P.August 2019Weekend with the tentWe will be back 👍 lots of shade on the campsite, beautiful hiking trails.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Petra W.May 2018PozitivnoUnconventional place with a sense of adventure ;-) Open fire allowed, good atmosphere.NegativnoIf you know that many people come here to party and are not necessarily looking for peace and quiet, there is none here.Natural place in a beautiful locationWe were here with friends over Whitsun. If you're just looking for peace and quiet and want to relax, you're in the wrong place here. But if you know that and make arrangements, it's wonderful here! Where else can you find places where campfires are allowed, where you can camp in the middle of nature... and still enjoy the amenities of a campsite (bread and baguette service, sanitary facilities ....)? In any case, we think it's great here. Sure, there were lots of groups here to party and drink, but there was a peaceful and nice atmosphere everywhere. There's plenty of space here; you don't have to stand right next to partying groups ;-) The sanitary facilities are simple, some are brand new and were always cleaned well, but it's just like everywhere else: if everyone left the toilets and showers as they wanted to find them, there would be no problems. The surroundings are also very beautiful. There are great, very well signposted hiking trails. The lake was already very warm for this time of year (probably because it is very shallow) and you could already swim. We certainly enjoyed it and will definitely be back.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Silvia S.July 2017PozitivnoNature Excursion destinations campfire nice peopleNegativnothe old sanitary facilities that the visitors/ bathers park their cars on the campsite (simply too many on weekends)Better enforcement than beforeWe've been camping there for a few years now. First with a tent and now with a caravan. The site is beautifully situated in the forest, away from the roads. The new sanitary facilities are quite ok. The soiling (described by other critics) is caused by some irresponsible campers and visitors. Unfortunately!... The old sanitary facilities are well.....there should be something done urgently. Night-time disturbances of the peace will now finally be dealt with through expulsions or warnings. Party tents should no longer be tolerated, says the mayor. Of course it happens from time to time that someone hits the beaches, but that's the way it is. Complaints can be made daily and are noted down. The ladies at reception are friendly and helpful. The play festival for children and the festival of lights on the same evening are particularly nice. You are allowed to make campfires at this campsite. This is a great experience, especially for children, collecting wood and hats for their own campfire. Where else can you do that? The campsite simply has a very special flair. If you are looking for plots and landscaped gardens, this is not the place for you. The campsite will be closed for six months at the end of September. All caravans and tents are dismantled and nature moves back in for six months. We love coming here, even if not everything is perfect. Dogs are not allowed on the beach!!! Unfortunately there is no dog beach. Many bathers come to the lake from outside at the weekend. If you like the simpler camping life, this is the place for you. No fancy-pants, but lots of really nice people.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Chris V.June 2017PozitivnoGreat location, beautiful lakeNegativnoLoud, no compliance with the campsite rules, lots of partying and sometimes excessive drinkingParty mile and constant boozingThis is our 2nd and definitely last season as permanent campers. Top location, pond and surroundings very nice, site basically ok. But: Loud! Loud music everywhere, partying and bawling until late at night and no end in sight, I experienced the night watchman in action just once. The worst are the weekends... and on public holidays and bridging days, sometimes unbearable, even for tolerant people. Alcohol consumption is also quite high there, as can be seen from the many bottles in the full garbage cans and sometimes lying around freely. Conclusion: not for families, especially with small children!Samodejno prevedeno.
- Detlef K.June 2017PozitivnoDrinking water taps and sanitary facilities on every corner, lake maximum 30 meters, pitches in the forest with plenty of space, infrastructure.NegativnoLoudness, party, cleanliness, cleanliness, cleanliness. This is a party place, not a campsite! We actually wanted to stay for 3 days over Whitsun, hike, visit the Maginot Line, swim and sit comfortably in front of the tents in the evening and drink a glass of French wine. But things turned out differently. By the time we arrived at 1 p.m., ALL the sanitary facilities were covered in faeces from... top to bottom. From 7 p.m. ghetto blasters from 3 different directions, later banging with alarm guns, partying on every corner until late into the night, including fights. No sign of a good night's sleep. I left the first night, the rest the next morning. If you are looking for peace and quiet and/or have a sensitive dog, you should definitely not stay here.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Stefan L.September 2014PozitivnoGreat natureNegativnoLoud and lots of partiesToo loudFor a campsite in the countryside, it is simply incomprehensible why such noise is allowed. From 9:00 in the morning on a Saturday we were bombarded with techno music and left early at 21:00 in the evening. If you want to disco, this is the right place. If you are looking for peace and relaxation you should go somewhere else.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Jolie v.August 2014PozitivnoGreat for children, beautiful nature, great festivalsFrom the perspective of a permanent camperWe have been going to Hanauer Weiher for about 20 years and our caravan has been on the site for the whole season for about 15 years. The staff are friendly. You can talk to them and they always try to help you if they can. Sanitary 1&3 are very old, but will be renovated before the 2015 season and equipped... with new boilers. Sanitary facilities 2&4 are new, clean and attractive. There is a sandy beach, in summer a non-swimmer area with lifeguard and an extra beach toilet block. The camping club organizes regular parties and events in summer, with music, beer and tarte flambée. These are always well attended and really nice. There is also a bistro with WLAN, a store with everything you need, a beach volleyball court, a playground for small children and one for older children. A handball/basketball court, which is mainly used as a football pitch. 2 boules courts complete the offer. Many people see youth groups as a problem. There are certain zones on the campsite. The red zone is for large groups, especially youth groups. This is located near the reception. Then there is the yellow zone, which is all the areas where you can just pitch your tent. The green zone is the demarcated pitches, where the permanent campers are. I recommend that anyone looking for peace and quiet in the high season should clearly state at the entrance that they are looking for peace and quiet and where it is quietest. The night watchman can help you best. And if you stand next to a group of young people and then wonder why they don't go to bed at 9 pm, the staff probably can't help you either. About the surroundings. The lake is not deep in the area of the beach. You can walk in for ages but it does get deep at some point. In the forest not far from the campsite, practically on the other side of the lake, there is a very interesting nature trail. Unfortunately, the signs are only in French, but you understand what it's about ;) You can see wild Venus flytraps there, for example. There are beautiful footbridges over the moor, just great. A few kilometers further on there are many bunkers from the war, the Maginotligne can be visited. There is also a forest chapel. Bitche is also worth a visit, where you can see the citadel. I personally recommend the Hanauer Weiher to families with children. For me, the greatest thing as a child was riding around on my bike all day or swimming in the lake. Building sandcastles was also one of my greatest passions. The people are great there, you just have to talk to each other. If you forget a hammer, you can always borrow one. And if it doesn't work out with the neighbors, you can always "move". As for the sanitary facilities, they are completely cleaned several times a day in summer. Properly cleaned. Unfortunately, they are messed up by visitors, so the staff can't be blamed here.Samodejno prevedeno.
- hanni n.July 2014Pozitivno....Negativno....nice but be careful at the weekendVery nice location, but at the weekend only halligalli, loud music until after 01.00 clock (absolute night's rest according to the site rules from 23.00 clock!!!) Loud conversations, laughter and bawling even further into the night. I can imagine that it is much better during the week with quiet and clean sanitary facilitiesSamodejno prevedeno.
- ralf l.August 2013...super nice campsite - for nature lovers just the right thing - have been coming there for years (with family and children) - simply beautiful - very nice staff and you can quickly find contact if you want. fantastic - especially very natural surroundings - with many advantages over other campsites in this area.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Silvia B.July 2013Very nice campsite is recommended. Very nice staff. They all speak German. Only if you use the sanitary facilities you should not be picky.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Holger W.July 2013Nice place, during the day everything is actually ok. But when it gets dark at the weekend, it gets crazy. There's performance drinking and techno until 4am. The reception said there was a night watchman, but he either has a good night's sleep or he doesn't dare approach every clientele. Conclusion: Not for those seeking peace and quiet.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Frank O.May 2013We wanted to have a quick look at the campsite and asked at reception. In 32 years of camping we have never received this answer: You have to buy a visitor day pass. Despite another explanation for a short visit, the lady insisted on buying a day ticket. Outrageous and outrageously rude, this campsite is not to be recommended.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Alexandra M.July 2011
- Marion B.April 2011The site has a beautiful location in the middle of the forest with swimming opportunities. Pedal boats can be hired nearby and there is a snack bar both inside and outside the campsite. You can buy bread and essentials in the small campsite store. There are two small playgrounds, boules courts and a... hard rubber pitch. The sanitary facilities are relatively modern and comfortable and were very clean during the week, but not so much at weekends. As far as the site rules are concerned (quiet after 11pm), some regular guests do not adhere to them. Their own taste in music was then imposed on their fellow campers until after 1 am. Conclusion: A nice quiet place during the week, less so at the weekend.Samodejno prevedeno.
