All pitches are well maintained, partly terraced, very level, wedges rarely required.
A great starting point for those seeking peace and quiet or cyclists... and hikers. There is usually a light breeze, which is very pleasant, especially on very hot days.
Very friendly staff with personal site instructions.
Small store, coffee and ice machines, wine, water, soft drinks, canned food from the local butcher.
A huge stand with excursion destinations up to hiking maps etc. completes the whole thing.
In addition, the inn a few meters from the square, with outdoor terrace from 17.00 clock with good bourgeois, German cuisine.
Excellent value for money. Mixed roast, for example, with spaetzle 13.90 EUR, so even families with children can eat out more often without breaking the budget.

Electricity/water and lighting are right on the pitch.
There wasn't a single cobweb to be found in the sanitary facilities. The scullery was self-cleaning, so everyone cleaned up afterwards, and so... was the kitchen!
Dogs are free of charge and also get a gift!

- Micha Z.March 2023Pozitivno- Operator super nice! - Very nice permanent tenants/campers (at least the ones we met) - Toilets and showers spotlessly clean! - The site is very well maintained and partly brand new. - Dogs and children friendly (operator has dogs himself) - There is a small restaurant with very good food right next to the site and a stone's throw away a legendary snack bar for the area. - What surprised us personally was the baby room with a baby bath for bathing and a changing corner including a radiant heater to turn on. - Not so often and for us at least a first - the dishwashers. Ingenious for families or for those who like to cook a lot and don't like to wash camping dishes. - Also not so often, even if not so "pretty", the pool. We celebrated it. Unfortunately, it wasn't in use yet (frost/out of season). Still, it's great when some places do the work! - Right next to it a really great and spacious playground 👍 - Ice cream and coffee machine in the anteroom of the reception / permanently accessible 👍 great thing. - There are also various accommodations for rent on the pitch.Negativno- You have to walk a little way to do your shopping or you can make do with the small store in reception.Very nice place with an ingenious starting pointFor me, as a small family of three (daughter 8 months, parents both around 40) with a caravan, it's a really fantastic place in a fantastic area and an ingenious starting point for great city trips and excursions into the countryside.

The walkway around the campsite was mowed. The showers were free and you could set the temperature yourself. We had a different experience this year in Gerolstein. The dishwasher for the guests... was also a first for us. At the end there was a detailed bill and you paid for your vacation after it was over, not in advance. As in the Gerolstein mentioned above.

WLAN usually not sufficient.Recommended for switching offWe were passing through on the A8 and spent 2 nights here with the motorhome. We reserved a parking space in advance by email, which went smoothly. The staff are very friendly and helpful. In the main building, you can buy everyday essentials. I found it pleasant that everything is booked on the pitch... and you can pay for everything together when you check out. This also applies to baked goods, which you can order the day before. These are highly recommended. WLAN is provided by Freifunk. During our stay, the WiFi was not usable as it seemed that many other campers were using the WiFi at the same time. The mobile phone network, e.g. Vodafon, is virtually non-existent. Of course, if you want to switch off properly, this is an advantage. The nearest supermarket is in the neighboring village. You can choose between two buildings with the same facilities to use the sanitary facilities. The rooms appeared clean and well maintained. We didn't find the disposal room of the chemical toilet too pleasant, it made a somewhat unclean impression. The pitch is completely landscaped and is clean and well maintained. There are plenty of fresh water taps available. Electricity is charged per use.
If you met one of the many permanent campers in the sanitary facilities, you easily had the feeling of being disturbed in some way.
All in all, a recommendable place for travelers who like hiking or biking. The landscape is very hilly and challenging. The cleanliness is remarkable, sanitary facilities are cleaned several times a day.
The organization is great, the daily bread roll service is perfectly organized.
Culinary delights are also on offer, on the one hand the restaurant at the campsite with great food and directly opposite the snack bar with the best currywurst I have ever eaten in southern Germany :)

However, the pictures, especially the aerial shots, give the impression that you have a great view, but unfortunately you "only" look across a meadow to a forest behind it. That's ok, but we had expected something different.NegativnoUnfortunately not the expected view and the sanitary facilities in the main building are very clean, but extremely cramped and definitely need a thorough renovation. The shower heads in 2 cabins are only permanently installed and calcified, so that the water splashes everywhere except on the body.Small space with room for improvementSomehow I can't agree with the previous speakers about the quiet location of the campsite. We were there over Whitsun and the nearby road down to Essingen is a motorcycle refuge and is therefore often used for "revving up" uphill. This died down towards the evening and it was completely quiet at night....
Definitely a good starting point for hikes to Rosenstein and the Steinerne Meer/Valley.

The sanitary facilities have been completely renovated and are always clean. Everything here is always tip-top. And if you don't like it, the cleaning lady asks for a comment so that she can make it better if necessary. What more... could you want? There is a restaurant at the old reception, which we didn't visit as we decided to use our barbecue. The pitches for the transit campers are nicely laid out and there is also a large meadow for tents, although the slope would be too steep for me with a tent, but the meadow is flatter in the lower area. The welcome was warm and we were able to arrive later. There is a small mini-shop at reception and you can pre-order bread rolls for the next day. There was plenty of material for excursions. Top!!! There is also a swimming pool, but there was no water in it yet. The water connections at the pitches were also not yet in operation (low season). We loved it and will be back.Аутоматски преведено.
