- Andrea H.July 2023Positiva- still quite close to the highway - Good place to stay overnight - large pitchesNegativa- Long distances to the power supply boxQuiet overnight campingWell suited as a place to stay overnight, as it is in a quiet location and not very far from the highway. Bread roll service available, other stores within walking distance.
WLAN for a fee, but good and reliable.
Nice area for walking and for city trips to Rouen, for example.Automatiskt översatt. - Lars P.June 2023PositivaVery friendly reception, Uncomplicated check-in, Baguette service on site, Quiet location by the forest, Within walking distance of the village center of Jumiéges, Excursion destinations and Rouen easily accessibleNegativaSomewhat narrow access via side streets in the village, Somewhat convoluted arrangement of the pitches, some long distances to the respective electricity columns at some places in the rear part, some places under many trees with a lot of shade.Camping by the forest near the SeineWe stayed at Le Forêt for two days and deliberately chose the site on our journey to Brittany as we wanted to visit Rouen and the old abbey of Jumiéges. From the highway, it takes a while to reach Jumiéges via some narrow country roads.
The site is located on the outskirts of the village next to the... forest and accessing it is a bit tricky with a camper van or large camper vans via narrow roads.
The reception there is very friendly and courteous, and communication is in French or English.
Most of the pitches are separated by high hedges. Somewhat long distances to the next power column at some pitches, the cables have to be laid partly over the access road of the neighboring pitches. Sanitary facilities are okay, the new large wash house is good, with spacious and very warm showers.
Fresh baguettes can be ordered at reception for the next day. Barrier times from 08:00 to 22:00.
The site is very quiet and the surrounding area is ideal for walking or cycling. The Seine is only 3-4 km away. As already described in the previous reviews, the ferries across the Seine should be avoided with a caravan or camper van. The ferries are small with narrow ramps and the descents are very steep.
We liked the CP Le Forêt, especially the visit to the abbey ruins in the town center is worth a visit.Automatiskt översatt. - Armin G.June 2022PositivaVery friendly welcome, high hedges guarantee peace and privacy, good price-performance ratioNegativaLocated away from the highway, no toilet seats (unfortunately typically French)beautifully laid out and well-kept courseWe stayed here for one night on our journey to Normandy/Brittany, despite the beautiful location somewhat off the highway. Very friendly welcome - also a bit in German - and quick, uncomplicated check-in. The pitches are of average size and bordered by high hedges - we liked it. Water and electricity... available at the pitch. Delicious baguette and croissants in the morning, which were pre-ordered in the evening. Sanitary for franz. Sanitary facilities above average by French standards and clean, especially in the morning, but toilets typically French without toilet seats. Good value for money, we only paid just under 20 EUR for 1 night with camper and 2 people (including ADAC discount!).Automatiskt översatt.
- Harald B.August 2018PositivaQuiet location, generously laid outNegativaA little off the beaten trackIdeal for visiting RouenThe site is very nicely situated, the pitches are large enough, we were disturbed by the 2 meter high hedge walls around each pitch. The access road can easily be overlooked, but is large enough even for large caravans. The distances to the reception, bread service and sanitary facilities are not too... far from all pitches. The sanitary facilities are quite new and are always kept clean. We were only on the site for 2 nights to see Rouen, so we didn't use the pool, which we found more than acceptable. The bistro only serves drinks, the take-out service was limited to impossible opening hours and a meager offer. Recommended for visitors to Rouen, but hardly suitable for "kilometer eaters" as it is quite far from the freeways. Important for arrival and departure: The town is located in a loop of the Seine, the convenient routes via two ferries are absolutely unsuitable for caravans, so "switch off" ferries in the navigation system.Automatiskt översatt.
- Sassinek R.July 2018PositivaQuiet, clean, relaxing, beautiful swimming poolNegativano good reheated pizza at BistroSummer 2018This was our campsite during a trip to Spain. Nice clean site, large pitches, friendly and helpful staff, always happy to returnAutomatiskt översatt.
- Horst M.June 2018PositivaPrice-performance Quiet Clean sanitary facilities, small pool Good location for excursions on the Seine loopsNegativaOnly a small grocery store in the village. the nearest supermarket is 5km away... not really a big disadvantage.Vacation in the Seine loopsWe came across the campsite by chance. Escaping the drizzly weather on the Normandy coast, we went to see what was nearby. We arrived at lunchtime. It was closed. The owner saw us, interrupted our lunch and took us in. "Walk around the square, look for a nice spot, all the reserved ones are marked. It... was easy to find a nice spot, shady and spacious between hedges. Top sanitary facilities and clean.... which is probably also due to the guests. Good baguette service in the morning, if ordered in advance. In the village a small grocery store, several restaurants, I counted 5, one of them in the upper price segment, but highly recommended. We were told immediately by the owner that if we wanted to see Rouen, we should take the bus. In the neighboring village (2km) it ran every 30 minutes. (32km, for 1,60€), a reason to leave the car at the bus stop. We made bike tours around the whole Seine loop, positive: all Seine ferries are free. If you like ruins and want to see the impressive abbey in Jumieges, you'll get your money's worth. It's a matter of opinion. I don't think €7.50 is too expensive. So I recommend the Paltz, even if it is used by many as a transit point.Automatiskt översatt.
- Kerstin I.May 2018PositivaSanitary facilities Cycle path networkCamping to feel goodThe site lives up to its name. It has beautiful old trees and high beech hedges to separate the spacious pitches. The sanitary facilities are as good as new, always clean and contribute greatly to the feel-good character of the site. We particularly liked the good cycling opportunities directly from the site. Rouen is also definitely worth a visit.Automatiskt översatt.
- Jan R.July 2017PositivaClean sanitary facilities, very friendly staff and great serviceNegativa-:_::_Wonderful place, friendly staffOn our tour through Normandy, this place was one of the best. Super pitch, super friendly service, very clean sanitary facilities, and bread service (baguette). Highly recommended!!!Automatiskt översatt.
- Hartmut B.June 2017PositivaQuiet, well-maintained campsite, quick access to Rouen.NegativaThe village of Jumieges has little to offer. You have to pay 7.50 to visit the monastery ruins, a lot of money for little value.Very well maintainedFor anyone planning a visit to Rouen or cycling tours on small roads through the nature park. The landscape is relaxing. The SP for the Womos are comfortable, the service courteous. All the supply and disposal facilities were tip-top.Automatiskt översatt.
- Robert S.April 2015Good starting point to RouenVery friendly and helpful owners. Very clean. From here you can go on beautiful walks and bike rides. You can get to Rouen quickly by bus.Automatiskt översatt.
- Peter U.September 2011Well-run campsite with swimming pool. Unfortunately the temperature and the weather were no longer such that you could use it. There is a bread roll service in the morning, otherwise you have to self-cater. The pitches are separated by hedges and are large enough.Automatiskt översatt.
- S. K.September 2011The place was very quiet, clean and tidy. Internet could have been available, but was definitely too expensive for us at €10/day.Automatiskt översatt.
- Dirk W.May 2010Beautifully situated just above Jumiege (approx. 10 min walk into the village). Old trees and spacious pitches - separated by hedges. Super clean sanitary facilities - included in the price!Automatiskt översatt.
