- Phil L.June 2023PositivaProximity to Eurotunnel as last site on tourNegativaThis was absolutely the worst campsite we have ever stayed at. Other comments re. cold shower water, wet floors in the toilets and unflushable toilets were correct. The worst part was that we used this as a last site before catching an early crossing to Dover, staying Thur, Fri and Sat. On Friday night the we were concerned to see a steady stream of cars coming in through the security barrier and parking near the bar. The loud drunken party continued until well past midnight. When the same thing started to happen on Saturday night with well over 50 cars coming in, I asked the manager what was going on. He replied that this was ‘animations’ and that these were his friends. He was clearly renting out the bar and restaurant to private parties. This one was obviously for a birthday party. It started at 7pm with a Saxophonist but then turned into a 4-hour disco before midnight and the Live Rock band until close on 2am, the bass notes shuddering through the ‘van walls. They deliberately turned the music up just gone midnight just to make sure anyone sleeping would be woken up. Needless to say, instead of being ready for our long journey home, we were dead on our feet.Worst campsite we have ever stayed atRents out the facilities for private parties. Locals were permitted to drive in though security barrier. Parties on 2 consecutive nights were loud, drunken and disorderly, running on till well past midnight (2am in the second case). The live rock band that came on after midnight reverberated through the ‘van. Sleep was impossible.
The toilets in the morning were wet and, some, unflushed. The shower water is pre-mixed and fairly cold. - Andrea K.September 2022PositivaVery nicely divided and designed CP, very good opportunities to explore the areaNegativaThe sanitary facilities could be cleanerBeautiful place on the Cote d'OpalWe had a very nice vacation at this park-like campsite near the coast in September 2022. The welcome was very friendly. There are lots of places of interest nearby and the coast is about 5 km away. Boulogne-sur-Mer with its old fortress is particularly beautiful and the "Nausica" there (a huge aquarium)... is really worth seeing!
The campsite has a bar with a restaurant and bread service, several boules courts (many greetings to "my" Équipe), great playgrounds and a beautifully landscaped (secured) lake with barbecue areas.
The only thing I have to criticize are the sanitary facilities. They really could have been cleaner. But unfortunately I've experienced this more often in France, even on really very good campsites.
All in all, a clear recommendation!Automatiskt översatt. - Thomas M.July 2019PositivaVery well-kept complex, very friendly people and good value for money.NegativaShowers without temperature controlGood price-performance ratio, very well maintained facility! The site is very close to the A16 and is therefore easily accessible. Unfortunately, depending on the wind direction, you can hear the highway very well, but that didn't bother us. The whole site is beautifully laid out and well maintained. The sanitary facilities are a bit outdated, but were always... clean. The fact that you can't adjust the water temperature in the showers is a point deduction. Although the site "only" has 3 stars, all pitches were equipped with water, waste water and 10 ampere electricity. The site is a few kilometers from the sea, but you can be at the beach in a few minutes by car. There are no shopping facilities in the village of Wacquinghen. You have to drive to the next town (approx. 7 km) to stock up. We could have left the bikes at home, as there is no real cycling infrastructure in the area. The campsite is perfect for relaxing and going on excursions in the surrounding area. As the campsite is only a few hours away from us, we will definitely come back again for a long weekend.Automatiskt översatt.
