And so it was! Free choice of pitch on a large meadow, directly on the Thaya, lots of deeply relaxed campers, far away from any hustle and bustle, WLAN right up to the last corner of the pitch, old but spotlessly clean sanitary facilities... and plenty of them, showers with a 50 cent charge are no longer quite up to date but you can easily manage with a coin. Thayatal cycle path on the doorstep, it's not far to the village, but quite an uphill climb.Automatiskt översatt.

No real operator, you can tell.Passageway with plenty of space.We had planned to stay for two days, but ended up only staying for one night. The lady in charge cashed in the same evening as she had the next day off. There is no real operator, but you can tell by looking at the site. There is a playground, but unfortunately it consists more or less only of a swing.... The adjacent river wasn't really inviting for a swim in mid-July - and we are real water rats. There is no real entrance, just an aluminum ladder. It is a natural body of water, so there was a lot of flotsam and jetsam. The sanitary facilities are clean, but quite rustic. What is convincing is the price and the space - plenty of room. Perfect for a drive through or as a starting point for excursions - but without older children. Registration not always occupied, but you can choose your own pitch anyway. Despite the peak season, only about half of the campsite was occupied. Comfortable, large pitches, electricity connection accessible... with a short cable, water taps at the edge of the pitch and on the way to the sanitary building, also easy to reach. Emptying point for camping toilets at one corner of the fenced-in campsite, also easy to reach. The campsite is located directly on the Thaya, where you can also swim in the river, about 400 m away is the public adventure pool in Waidhofen an der Thaya with a large pool and slides for children, beautiful sunbathing lawn. It is somewhat complicated to find the start of the Thaytal cycle path. Although this is beautiful on the main route on the route of the former Thaytalbahn, the different variants are annoying because they are very, very poorly marked, even the locals can hardly help. (But I didn't include this in the rating of the campsite) The campsite itself is well maintained, it is rather difficult to find without a navigation system or asking around in the village, the access road is ok. Very cheap with the Campingcard, we paid 100 euros for two people including electricity for five nights with a small tip. Mind you, this was in the high season in August! The number of showers and toilets in the sanitary area is a bit limited, and could be a bit tight when the site is full. It is no longer up to date that you need 50 cents to shower. And then, like me, I forget the coin and have to go twice ;-) The sanitary area is cleaned regularly, but the spiders with their webs and other vermin above the showers and washbasins should also be removed. The adjacent path along the Thaya is annoying, apparently a popular meeting place and run for countless dogs from the whole region. Constant barking and yapping from 6:30 am. In combination with the loud church bells (6 a.m.) of two churches, this is more for early risers like me. All in all, however, a very nice, recommendable little place.Automatiskt översatt.
