" - August 2013 This year we did not want a rain vacation so we decided to take refuge in France. And since this is our first time camping with two small children, we wanted to know in advance if it would be a nice and especially small campsite. Against our will, we decided to book a campsite in advance for the first time in our history of camping. After some research, we ended up at Pébru. What immediately stands out is the beautiful site with good pictures. It looks friendly and good so we decide to make a reservation. Summer is in full swing when we arrive in Pébru from Normandy. A hilly landscape, perfect for doing some bike training miles. Babs welcomes us and shows us our place. Under the trees overlooking the rolling countryside. A place we have reserved for a little week. Because of the small-scale campsite, everyone knows our two-year-old daughter after just one day so we confidently let her play in the "playground" out of our sight. At various times during our stay, all sorts of funny events arise in the evening. We liked it so much that we ended up staying more than a week. We appreciate the personal attention of Babs as the "camp boss". We seldom return to a campground, but in this case, when we come back to this area, it might just happen. Profile

Pébru is een hameau in de Corrèze. Een dorp kan met het niet noemen met slechts 5 huizen, hameau betekent in het Frans dan ook gehucht. Zelfs een straatnaam is er niet. Want alle huizen staan in dezelfde straat. Dus …die heeft men maar gewoon weggelaten. Naar het zich laat aanzien in Pébru ergens in de 15e eeuw ontstaan. Als liefhebber van rust, ruimte en natuur komt u hier helemaal thuis. Wandelen, vogels spotten, naar de stilte luisteren, soms onderbroken door het geratel van een specht. In de winter hebben we het zelfs meegemaakt dat het zo stil was dat we letterlijk de sneeuw konden horen vallen. Want al bent u nu misschien op zoek naar een geschikte locatie om uw zomervakantie door te brengen, ook in de winter is het hier goed toeven, met op 70 kilometer afstand de wintersportplaats Super Lioran. Nu komt u gewoon lekker in de zomer om lekker te kunnen zwemmen of dobberen in ons privémeertje dat ruim 2500 m² groot is. Ook kunt u hier vissen op kleine witvisjes, snoeken en karpers. Zelfs de ijsvogel is te bewonderen aan de rand van het meertje. Libelles in allerlei soorten en maten zweven rond het water. U kunt dus lekker luieren en genieten van het weidse uitzicht vanaf de heuvel - waar ook de vlakke tentplaatsen zijn met o.a. uitzicht op het meertje. De totale oppervlakte van ons achtererf, het kampeerbos de bergheuvel en meertje is ongeveer 1 ha. Voor de meer actieve vakantievierder zijn er genoeg mogelijkheden. Er staat achter op het erf een wedstrijdformaat tafeltennistafel, er zijn badmintonrackets aanwezig voor de sportievelingen onder ons, de aanhangers van Barney kunnen hun hart ophalen aan de openlucht versie van het dartspel en een tafelvoetbalspel staat klaar voor gebruik. Alle attributen zijn vrij te gebruiken voor de huurders. Meehelpen met het tuinieren, fruit plukken, jams maken en klussen is mogelijk. Pébru is een boerendorp waar twee boeren hun veestapel hebben staan. In de weilanden rondom het dorp lopen de kuddes bestaande uit één stier en een flinke hoeveelheid dames met hun kalfjes. Deze worden gewoon in de wei geboren. Om ze van het ene naar het andere weiland te krijgen, worden ze door het dorp heen gedreven, een waar spektakel wat u niet wilt missen. Ook voor kinderen is het goed toeven in Pébru, veel te zien en vooral te beleven zo midden in de natuur. Ons achtererf en het kampeerbos zijn geheel omheind, dus ook de allerkleinsten kunnen veilig rondbanjeren. Kortom alles is aanwezig voor een fantastische vakantie. Genieten van de natuur, actief zijn, zonnen en veel, heel veel toeristische attracties en bezienswaardigheden in de omgeving. Meer daarover kunt u meer lezen op de pagina omgeving & attracties. Direct vanuit Pébru zijn er vele interessante wandelingen te maken. Dwars door weilanden, kleine paadjes waar het recht van overpad nog geldig is, beekjes overstekend, kortom een echte uitdaging voor de enthousiaste wandelaar.

Vergis je niet in de "nog maar 330 km." Want daar doe je met de auto circa 4 uur over Verder gaan op de N20/A20 van Vièrzon richting Limoges. Bij afslag 46.1 verlaat je de N20/A20 en gaat inde richting Lyon/Clermont Ferrant/Tulle , dit is de nieuw aangelegde tolweg richting Zwitserland, de A89/E70 Neem afslag 21 Aurillac/Beaulieu/Argentat/Tulle est, daar TOL betalen € 1,60 en volg de borden Tulle centre/Aurillac de N89, volg dan de borden Brive/Aurillac en neem de afslag Aurillac, de D 1120 Het is nu nog ca. 50 km. naar Pébru de D1120 blijven volgen want Pébru ligt ook aan deze D1120 richting Aurillac Vanaf Argentat is het nog ca. 20 km. naar Pébru (ca. 20 minuten) Nu steeds op de D1120 blijven rijden, je passeert ondertussen op die D1120 nog vele plaatsnaambordjes van o.a. la Broquerie, Mercoeur, Sexcles, 2xGoulles (hier 2x niet afslaan), l'Arbre du Raisin, Rieussec en Lacaze Dan staat er aan de linkerkant van de weg een hoogspanningsmast bij de afslag met het bordje Pébru, aan dit weggetje is de gîte het eerste huis rechts. Ons huis is het laatste (vijfde) huis dat je recht voor je ziet met de hoge bordestrap. Wij wonen aan de rechterkant in de stal, aan “bellen”bij het zwaantje.
