What do I have to consider when travelling to Cyprus for camping?
To get to Cyprus, you have to cross the Mediterranean with your vehicle. There are 2 possibilities: Ferries from Turkey to North Cyprus or from Greece to South Cyprus.
The northern part of the island is under Turkish control, while the southern part belongs to Greece. When travelling via Turkey, from Tasucu to Kyrenia in Northern Cyprus, you will need to arrange a visa and register your vehicle, for which you should plan enough time. Also, you are not allowed to bring dogs from North Cyprus to South Cyprus.
Since 2022, there is also a ferry connection from Piraeus in Greece to Limassol. As Greece is part of the EU, no visa is required here.
