"You can't get any closer... - Really great campsite right by the river and waterfall. Familiar and nicely run, small and clearly laid out with a good starting point for excursions, hikes etc. From the campsite you can walk along small paths along the river and the rapids and waterfall, but unfortunately all tourists who want to go to the waterfall have to cross the campsite. But that's the only negative thing. We were right next to the river, it was already rushing ;-) The sanitary facilities have a code, are small and always clean. The site is small and well laid out with a small playground. We were there in August at lunchtime and could still choose a free pitch at that time, towards the afternoon it got fuller, the place was then about 90% full. In addition to pitches, there are also a few small rental cabins. There are several excursion options nearby. Are on the mountain for hiking, definitely to Tännforsen, which was almost as scenic as Ristfalljät, Östersund etc..

"Autumn camping - We were the only two permanent campers on the site, this is also partly due to the time of year (were there from 7.10-910.19) In the service house everything important is available (coffee machine, microwaves, ceramic hob + oven and washing machine, as well as a dryer). The sanitary facilities were clean, but I somehow missed the urinals in the men's compartment. That's complaining on a high level. Hot showers and WiFi are included in the price. Conclusion: a small, manageable place to switch off and relax right by the waterfall.

"fine small camping next to large waterfall,500 m from E 14 - Beautiful surroundings hiking next to large waterfall and route Pilgrim path. nice simple restaurant with beautiful view and fine helpful N.L.owners.good clean and heated sanitary building.

" - Fantastically located, small, well-kept and cozy place right on the Ristafallet. The owner couple are very helpful and courteous. The small sanitary facilities were very clean and were cleaned several times a day. Hot showers free of charge. The site was the ideal starting point for our excursions and trekking tours into Valadalen and the fells around Are. We felt very comfortable there. Certainly not the last time we stayed there!

Profil

Ristafallet Camping en Lunchroom is gelegen naast de Ristafallet waterval. Deze waterval, in het westen van Jämtland, behoort tot een van de mooiste van Zweden en is vanaf het campingterrein te zien. Het water valt 50 meter breed en 14 …meter diep omlaag langs een aantal rotsen. Wanneer u kampeert op Ristafallet camping voelt u zich dicht bij de natuur, u wandelt vanaf de camping langs de waterval het oerbos in en kunt zich laten verassen door het natuurschoon zoals enkel Jämtland u te bieden heeft. Het camping terrein telt 25 kampeerplaatsen waarvan de meeste zijn voorzien van electra. Het service gebouw bied naast de sanitaire facaliteiten ook een kookgelegenheid met zitplaatsen en is voorzien van babysanitair.

Ristafallet Camping and Restaurant is situated next to the waterfall Ristafallet. Coördinates: 63º18'45"N,13º20'49"E This waterfall in the western part of Jämtland is listed as one of the most beautifull waterfalls in Sweden. You can see the waterfall from the campsite. …The water falls 50 meters wide and 14 meters deep down along some rocks. Depending on the season the amount of water that falls is from 100 to 400 m³ per second. The waterfall and the forest are very old and unique and therefore a protected nature reserve. An island devides the waterfall in two parts. On the island is a cave that can be visited in the winter when the waterfall is frozen. The cave is about 20 meters long and has two entrances.
