Every year, the camping.info Award honours the 110 best campsites in Europe and is one of the most coveted awards in the camping industry. The award presented by camping.info is purely a public award - without a jury or discretionary decisions.

Around 110,000 reviews from over 55,000 campers form the basis for the camping.info Award 2025, which is being presented for the 14th time this year. Thanks to the tried-and-tested formula, which primarily takes into account guest satisfaction as well as the number and topicality of the reviews, not only large campsites but also smaller ones make it into the ranking.

The winner's podium: The TOP 3 in the award

The extremely popular Campingpark Kühlungsborn once again shines in place 1 of the camping.info Awards 2025. For the fifth time in a row, the modern 5-star campsite in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern has climbed the winner's podium. Campers particularly praise the superb location directly on the long Baltic Sea beach, the wide range of leisure activities, the excellent sanitary facilities and the relaxing sports and wellness facilities.

The exceptional Camping Luxury Schlosshof in South Tyrol was awarded the second place. With an infinity pool on the roof terrace, a wellness oasis including a massage from head to toe and gastronomy so excellent that even spoilt hotel holidaymakers will be amazed - anyone who wants to experience the extraordinary and a lot of ‘Amore’ should experience the very special ‘Schlosshof feeling’ at the best campsite in Italy at least once.

The third place is once again secured by the family and dog-friendly Camping Sonnenland Lutzmannsburg in Austria. Already in the top 3 last year, the award-winning campsite in Burgenland remains number 1 in Austria in 2025 and impresses with its top location by the bathing lake and a huge range of leisure activities for young and old.

15 newcomers in the Award 2025 ranking

The natural Schwimmbad-Camping Mössler on Lake Millstätter See in Carinthia is the best newcomer in the 2025 Award. With over 450 very good ratings in 2024 alone, it made the leap from outside the top 110 to an impressive 17th place, making it the highest climber in the ranking.

Campers can not only give an overall rating of a campsite on camping.info, but also rate categories such as sanitary facilities, pitches, infrastructure or suitability for children, dogs, senior citizens and couples. In addition to a place in the top 110, we also award special awards in individual categories in the Award 2025.

• Best address for camping with dog and child: Camping Sonnenland Lutzmannsburg in Burgenland impresses with a huge range of leisure activities from petting zoo to bouncy cushions and is considered the top address for a family holiday with child, cone and four-legged friend.

In addition to the Top 100 campsites, the best campsites from 10 other countries will once again be honoured as part of the camping.info Awards 2025.

These are the best campsites from countries that are not represented in the Top 100 ranking. The best campsites from the Netherlands, Montenegro, Poland, Spain, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Sweden, Denmark, Slovenia and Greece are honoured.

This honour ensures that campsites outside the main countries in the ranking also receive the recognition they deserve.

About the camping.info Award Concept

The camping.info Award is one of the most ambitioned awards in the camping industry and is being presented for the 13th time in 2024. With 135 million page views, our camping platform is by far the most visited camping website in German-speaking countries. camping.info lists over 23.,000 campsites from 44 European countries and is also very popular in other countries thanks to its 27 language versions. The great success of the award is primarily based on its transparency: There is no “black box”, all the underlying evaluations and the formula for creating the ranking and all of its factors are publicly available. As in previous years, not only the average ratings of the camping guests form the basis, but there is a weighting according to the topicality of the ratings and their number.

Ratings are weighted based on how current they are, how many there are as well as how trustworthy the reviewer is: The more reviews a camper submits on camping.info, the frequency with which other users find their reviews useful, the more complete their personal profile, the number of pictures uploaded, etc., the higher the reviewer’s trustworthiness rating on camping.info will be. This level of trustworthiness is displayed beside each rating and is indicated with smiley faces (1–5).
