Spacious pitch that we were able to choose when we arrived. Nice, uncomplicated reception, a small swimming lake and a great playground are available.
Showers and toilets are basic but clean.

Varied campsite
This was our second time at the campsite with our children and friends. The campsite operator is friendly and always tries to fulfill the wishes of his guests. The site is a long way from the nearest major road, so it is quiet and safe. The children will find a real play paradise including free pony rides, no shower tokens and free wood for the campfire. What more could you want!

For the whole family
We spontaneously spent 2 nights at Ferienhof Schiermeier and were extremely impressed. Unfortunately we had to leave due to time constraints, but we will definitely be back. I think the vacation farm is mainly suitable for families and youth groups, we visited with our one-year-old son. It's not always... easy to meet everyone's expectations, but I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that every family (if they want to) can have fun here. I'll try to list a few things: Sandpit / swing / seesaw to play with the very little ones Huge adventure playground for medium to large children Sheep / horses / ponies for all ages Kettcars for 2 €/h for medium to large children Pony rides free of charge for small to large children Quad biking for medium to large children Natural swimming lake for everyone (incl. waterfall and water slide) Multi-purpose sports hall incl. grandstand for everyone Table football, table tennis, ... Barbecue areas I can think of this off the top of my head, the possibilities are amazing. Everything has been built piece by piece over decades and is absolutely amazing. A lot of attention to detail (the little house by the bathing lake is beautifully made, a clever roof covering, roof drainage, whitewashed / blue-painted doors, visually appealing design. A wooden shed would have the same function, but a real hut was built. Or quite simply, there are handles on the left and right of the bench by the campfire site for carrying around :) you just have to think about it). Ultimately, you have everything for the family for good and bad weather right on your doorstep, surrounded by a beautiful landscape that also invites you to explore. Finally, I would like to respond to the few negative comments on behalf of the Schiermeier family. On the subject of the playground: Yes, the equipment is welded/screwed together, but it is absolutely bombproof and anchored to the ground so that it doesn't move an inch. Yes, of course there are rust spots, I have never seen a playground made of stainless steel. It's all nicely painted and you have to look for the rust if you really want to. I haven't seen a single nail, screw heads should pose little risk of injury. Wood splinters after contact with wooden play equipment. I won't say anything about that now. A splinter won't kill anyone and is difficult to prevent. You could complain that you've been stung by a bee. You can see a 'Use at your own risk' sign on pretty much every playground! No playground owner wants to get caught in the nettle if a parent gets the idea that they are to blame for a child's scratch... Unfortunately, such a disclaimer is unavoidable these days. On the subject of danger in the playground, anyone who is so worried about their children should please stand next to them and just watch out. On the subject of the bathing lake: It is a natural bathing lake, which in my opinion is set up absolutely professionally. It can tip over, there can be animals there (that's a good thing!!). Anyone who can't cope with this should go to a chlorinated swimming pool. When we were there, the lake was in perfect condition, everything was perfectly maintained and clean and we felt right at home. Oh yes, it's a 15-minute walk. Maybe if you crawl on all fours, we were there including child and baby carriage in a maximum of 10 minutes, a walk through a super beautiful landscape. And I would have walked 30 minutes to the bathing lake. If I didn't have a child, I would have walked 4 hours, bathed and walked back. So please, you can also create your own problems. On the subject of friendliness: As the voice in the forest, so the voice out. We were friendly and received a very warm welcome. Maybe you should just talk to people for more than 2 sentences before you get a final impression and put your stamp on it. The owners were very keen to make sure that everyone was happy, for example they asked us if the party mood of the youth group disturbed us (it didn't, you can allow others to have fun and if you disturb them, I'll tell them myself...). ) Topic price / costs: I didn't find out what it cost beforehand, but in the end I tipped because the cost seemed far too low for what was on offer! Topic 'the rest': Young party people: we had them too, but it was limited. If they bother you can talk to them! And you don't have to let off steam in the comments about the campsite Notes on toilet cleanliness: er, please? You may well be asked to use the toilet brush... Visiting group of asylum seekers: I don't need to say anything about that. Anyone who complains about the presence of asylum seekers disqualifies themselves. Well, I don't really feel like going into everything, but I see many of the negative comments as meaning that you can't please people anyway... Everyone is the architect of their own fortune and there are plenty of smiths to smith with the Schmiermeiers.

Great place
Hi, I stayed at the Schiermeier Hof about a week ago. It was only one night because we were passing through on our motorcycles. I was totally fascinated by the place because it was very relaxed and we were given a very friendly welcome. We were able to camp wherever we wanted. The bathing pond is a dream... and wonderfully situated. In the evening we were able to make a campfire without asking. It's wonderful to be trusted so much that we were allowed to act on our own responsibility. Thank you very much! Frank Franzke

A totally successful week!
We recently spent a great week's vacation with our daughter and 3 grandchildren at the Schiermeierhof. Even the welcome was very warm, the pitch beautiful (wide view over the Bavarian Forest), the sanitary facilities always clean and the swimming pond great. The goats were always allowed to be visited... to the delight of the children and the baby goats could also be carried in our arms. Our grandchildren are now masters at saddling and feeding the ponies. The little ones never missed a ride on the extensive grounds. Of course, you have to keep an eye on the children - the duty of supervision always lies with the parents. CONCLUSION: An ideal place to spend an eventful vacation with children. There are also plenty of excursion options! We will definitely be back!

Adventurous and dangerous.
Once and even that would have been better saved
Adventurous vacation farm in each hinsiecht, were there with 2 small children, of the attractions advertised in the promotional video was but also nothing as described. The (bathing lake) a stinking mud puddle that you only reach after a few hundred meters, of course, like everywhere a big sign (at your... own risk). The playground was cobbled together from all kinds of scrap parts, of course, and the riding lessons on offer, well, when the farmer felt like it, took place on a stony wooden storage area full of horse droppings, mostly just a half-blind black pony and a really nasty spotted one that kept lashing out and injuring or biting children several times. The only reaction of the farmer ... yelling and hitting! The hardest thing, however, was after we wanted to leave after 2 days for the reasons mentioned, that this greedy farmer wanted the amount for a whole week. But because we didn't want to pay, he parked his tractor in the driveway. It was not possible to have a reasonable conversation with this rascal and in order not to further dramatize my grandchildren, who were now of course afraid, I gave him 130,- for 2 days of camping. By the way, the campsite is a popular excursion destination for youth groups (church association, children of asylum seekers, etc.) and I don't need to mention how good the night's sleep is.

A dream for families with children
We were there for the weekend and as a slightly larger group with four caravans. It was a dream for the children. Ponies, a huge playground, kittens, goats, just running around freely. As it was November and very cold, there were no campers and apart from two other caravans we were on our own. So we... had the whole campsite to ourselves. The location is great, fantastic panoramic views from the pitches! The lake (of course we didn't go swimming....) looked perfect for the summer. The campsite operators were immediately very friendly, the children were given a children's bar as a welcome gift, we were invited into the parlor to register and chat a bit. The children were shown the kittens in the stable. The only thing to watch out for is the ponies running free. The dark one is blind on one side and lashes out, the smaller white one often turns completely and lashes out with both hind legs. But if you don't go there, it doesn't have to bother you. The children (aged 3-8) quickly understood this. For us it was a farm vacation just as we had imagined.

Very nice
First contact and e-mail communication quick and friendly. Friendly and attentive welcome from both couples. Unfortunately on Friday loud laughter at the campfire until after midnight. Night's rest from 10 pm should be better enforced. Fantastically beautiful area. Lots of sports and games on offer.... A cuddly cat. Various animals. Great Edeka store a few kilometers away. Well signposted. Camping site cannot be missed. Passau only about 15 km away. Very nice city. All five of us will be back soon. Greetings from Munich

Adventurous playground made from old crane parts
Once upon a time
We were immediately surprised that there was hardly any movement at the start of the summer vacation. Apart from cats, there is nothing on this farm that children can stroke. A blind horse runs back and forth all day, the ponies (I didn't see more than 2) kick and bite and can only be ridden by children... under the guidance of professionals. If the children help out in the stable and do something wrong or even get dirty, the boss gives them a telling off. He also just growls when the children try to help in the stable and woe betide them if they do something wrong. I witnessed that somehow too much straw ended up in the stable and he growled at the children. I was asked by the boss (she didn't introduce herself) when we were going to pick up the bread rolls we had ordered. I only knew that my wife had ordered rolls for Sunday. She then growled that if you order bread rolls once, you always have to take them. I just said that you have to tell the guests that. The children were allowed to go to the neighboring farm once a day (there were cows and calves there) the farmer was really great and there was a lot of fun here. That may have been the case at Schirrmeier many years ago, but here you get the impression that they don't feel like it anymore and it's more of a nuisance. Instead, there's a notice on every gate and every board with prohibitions and rules and that you do everything at your own risk and what you should and shouldn't do. The men's toilet has a lovelessly slapped-on notice saying "please use the brush and hang it in the toilet, it's often shorter than you think". It says something like that. I would have liked to ask the farmer or the farmer's wife what was supposed to be hospitable about such advice, but we (fortunately) had to leave early due to an urgent family matter. When we asked the boss for the bill, the answer was yes, but that's not possible and then we have to make up for the vacation.... Conclusion: Deposit 50 € plus 150 € without invoice for 3 nights. NEVER AGAIN!!!

A beautifully situated vacation farm near Passau
The operators are very friendly. The sanitary area was very busy with groups of young people and was sometimes dirty. The youth groups sometimes made a lot of noise in the area. There was a Christian group that held loud open-air church services several times a day and called out loud biblical confessions. We therefore left early.

For families with children
Quiet, beautiful vacation spent
We were there this year at Whitsun with our caravan. Rarely have we been so relaxed on vacation. The children (aged 10 and 5) were out and about all day, in the stables or on the playground. The place is very nice, the pond is highly recommended for swimming. We would love to come back!

We felt very comfortable here!
We spent 2 very nice days here on our tour of Bavaria. If you are looking for an uncomplicated pitch in the countryside with children where you can let the kids run around, this is the place for you. The Schiermeier family was very helpful and friendly, we really liked the small lake and the soccer field... - of course TÜV Süd might have one or two objections regarding the playground equipment, but it's really nicely done. For a short hike with children, we recommend the Sausbachklamm gorge with a rustic mountain hut in the forest and a great organic mill café at the parking lot just before Waldkirchen.

Familiar and uncomplicated
When the children are busy, the parents can relax. There's no time for boredom here. Horses, goats, small kittens - Kettcars, a gym, playground and a climbing frame - and when the weather is right, there is even a small swimming pond. The whole thing is managed in a very friendly and uncomplicated manner... by the Schiermeier family. The surrounding area is also interesting. You can be in beautiful Passau in 20 minutes and it's not much further to the Czech Republic either.

Beautiful farm, disappointed about the operators
We were 5 days on the farm with our granddaughter 7 years. It was also very nice, the facility is great for children from the swimming lake to the playground as well as cats, goats, horses. Unfortunately we are very disappointed by the behavior of the operators when paying the bill, we were not willing... to pay a W-LAN that did not work (even after several times), whereupon the operators became loud towards us and told us to be gone by 8 o'clock the next morning. All this while our granddaughter was with us. Our granddaughter was very frightened and unsettled by this.

Unfriendly, short stays are apparently not welcome
Unfortunately no idyll on the farm
It may be that city dwellers who only want to spend one night "vacationing on a farm" are not the desired target group. We wanted to do this and didn't have a very positive experience with our two children (aged 6 and 2). At first the reception was very unfriendly, we were told to just drive in. Then... we were suddenly charged 4 euros more than the price list said was due, and without receiving an invoice. The site is in a beautiful location, but manure is sprayed on the fields almost around the clock, and the bathing pond looks the same, totally covered in algae. The campsite is rented out as a party location and the disco boxes in the main building are placed right next to the windows so that people can party outside all night. Rest is out of the question. There are a few animals (goats, cats, horses), but you are only allowed into the actual farm to see the cows for an hour in the morning and evening. The cows are chained up in their own dirt, just like in the old days - this is not modern farming. Nothing is explained or shown to the children, they are rather tolerated. The playground is quite nice, but it is self-assembled and doesn't seem very safe. The fact that there are "use at your own risk" signs everywhere doesn't exactly inspire confidence either.

Nice vacation would love to come back.
We were 2 weeks with our 3 year old daughter for camping and it was a nice vacation.the family Schiermeier is very nice and helpful. The farm is beautifully situated. We felt very comfortable and had a lot of fun swimming, riding and on the playground. The sanitary facilities are very clean and we also found it great that not everything is so strict, for example no midday rest and it was still not loud. We would definitely like to come back.

Relaxing vacation for families
This is the second time in a row that we have stayed at the Schiermeier Hof with our four children. The Schiermeier family is always very friendly, polite, helpful and sociable. Everything is there for the children: two playgrounds (one suitable for smaller children and one for older children), a trampoline,... football pitch, large go-karts, horses and pinies, goats and lots of friendly cats. A few meters into the meadows there is also a small swimming lake with changing rooms and a water slide. As the lake is not too deep, it is also ideal for children. There is also a small bathing pond for dogs. The price-performance ratio is great, and there is also a bread roll service and the option to barbecue. The children can play all day without getting bored. Otherwise there are many excursion possibilities (Passau 14km, museum village 20 km, game parks, toboggan runs etc). Shopping facilities are nearby (Büchlberg, Hutthurm and Thyrnau). Conclusion: a beautiful vacation in a warm atmosphere! We will be back.

The camping farm near the campsite where groups of young people stay creates additional noise. For true peace seekers it can be disturbing.
recommendable campsite
For us -family with children aged 16, 17 and 19 years- coincidence. A bull's eye. A farmer who receives you hospitably and helps you find the best place. Who quickly gives you a phone number to change the trailer tent's flat tire. We asked: is there any possibility of swimming around here? The farmer... modestly responded, "Oh yes, here at the bottom of the mountain. But there awaited us a true paradise in the middle of nature: a small lake even with changing cabins and slide, all built by the farmer. At the campsite we also had the opportunity to make a fire every evening. If you run out of wood, just go 50 meters away to get new wood. There is a sports hall near the campground, for E5/hour to rent. One rainy morning we played soccer for two hours with our Dutch neighbors. Do bring sneakers or play soccer in socks. (Otherwise, there were mainly German guests). You can walk right from the campsite. But if you drive 30 km, the number of possibilities expands enormously (among others dreisessel Czech Republic). We also made -from our campsite- a cycling tour of 55 km with our simple dutch bikes along Erlau, Donau and Ilz (dismounting now and then because of long climbs). n.b.: better bikes for rent at the campsite. Sanitary facilities are simple but good. Always hot showers. Soap at the taps and toilet paper stocked. Internet in the little room near the toilets. And all that for a price befitting a farm campsite. In short: lots of nature, hospitality, comfort and opportunities for the whole family. Highly recommended!

Playground equipment broken and not for small children
Small site for campers plus extra tent pitch. There is a sports hall and a soccer pitch. Clean sanitary facilities. However, too few (2 ladies' toilets), when the site is full it can get cramped. An apparently self-built climbing tower is quite interesting, but only for older children (from about 6 years).... All the other play equipment was either completely broken or only very poorly repaired (loose boards, rusty nails, broken swing ropes). There were almost no animals (1 free-roaming rabbit that you could only see from a distance, a few goats, 3 ponies - one of which kicks and one bites). You can only visit the cows early in the morning and in the evening at certain times and you get the impression that you are not welcome in the barn at all. The swimming pond (some distance away) is nicely done, but I wouldn't want to walk barefoot over the rough boards. The family is quite nice, but we expected something different from a "farm".
