We really enjoyed it again. You can get here quickly from the Ruhr area and find rest and relaxation.
The site has expanded in recent years and the modernization is not yet complete.
The sanitary buildings are modern, clean and well maintained. The pitches are... straight and mostly on grass. The driveways are well developed and sufficiently wide.
The operator and staff are very friendly and helpful. Fresh bread rolls are available at reception in the morning. If, like us, you are staying in the eastern part of the site (near the bathing lake) and are perhaps a little lazy about walking, we recommend a bike or scooter, as it is quite a walk to reception in the morning.
All in all, we spent another couple of lovely days here and had a good rest. Too bad, because overall it was quite good. Oh well, you can't get into any restaurant there with a dog. Especially as at least every 2nd camper has a dog. There are nettles everywhere and... the lawn could also be mowed. The sanitary facilities were fine. But also the reception was only sporadically occupied! It's a shame because the place is really nice and would certainly be even better if the current operator had stayed, but as it is at the moment we won't be going back, which is a shame. We had 3 children with us aged 3, 3 and 6 and always had the feeling that we were disturbing them. Children are always a bit livelier than most "campers". We were kicked out after 2 days because one of the little ones had an urgent need and we put him on... the edge of the pitch to satisfy it. So to make such a fuss over 2 ml of urine from a toddler, I don't understand in the slightest. You could have drawn someone's attention to it or something. Instead, some bored permanent campers complain and you're kicked off the pitch by "1pm". Too bad...but never again and zero stars for that. Totally ridiculous. It's understandable that you're not allowed to pee everywhere.
