About the campsite... located directly on the ski slope... you can be in the city center in 10 minutes on foot.
The wash house is awesome... an absolute oasis of well-being... and also very well maintained 🔝

If you can avoid booking, do so, it's simply a trap to get money from customers or, if you're lucky, from your travel insurance. Cancellations are as follows:
- 30€ no matter when you cancel, it's... a flat rate.
- 50% or at least 50€ if you cancel between 60 and 30 days in advance.
- 100% if you cancel 29 days in advance.
These conditions are non-negotiable and are changed by the campsite in advance, which makes them a possible unfair term within the meaning of EU Directive 31993L0013.
For this reason, a pitch can be rented several times for the same period, giving the campsite a good income without doing anything. Be aware that the weather in this area is very unpredictable, and cancellations due to bad weather are very likely.

Our pitch was spacious and there were plenty of water taps nearby.
Unfortunately, the bakery was on vacation, so there was no bread delivery service. The nearest bakery was 5 minutes away by bike and... a good 10 minutes on foot.
The campsite was not lit at night. However, the receptionist said that there should actually be some lights on at night...
Unfortunately there's no restaurant nearby, but it's not far to the center of Winterberg. There's plenty of choice here.
All in all, we liked it very much.

We were able to cancel free of charge, we don't even have to pay for the parking space! The new Sani Haus is really great - every age group has been catered for. The cleaning ladies were the real stars - great work. Even though the showers were in use until midnight, my family didn't see any dirt as they were all clean in the... morning. As there was a bike festival in Winterberg at the time, there were a lot of mountain bikers there. In the evening we could still sleep great, clear laughter but no unpleasant noise, bread rolls could be ordered. Quick access to the town in about 15 minutes on foot - the Rotharsteig is right on the square with great places to stop for refreshments. we will be back ;-) The friendliness of the team and the hard work must be rewarded.Перевод автоматический.

The valley station of the beginners' slope (further up there are also steeper slopes up to black) was... only a few meters away from the pitch, as was the ski rental. In area B there are a handful of tourist pitches down in the 1st row. Partly graveled (our salvation in the weather!), partly there were only a few pallets available to allow access to the WW. (We didn't see area C with the other tourist pitches.) ALDI is right next door, Edeka about 15 mins walk. It should be mentioned that there is an industrial estate next door. This doesn't bother me a bit when I'm skiing, but it might if I'm looking for peace and nature in summer. The pretty village with many restaurants is a 20-30 minute walk. The ski hut on site offers good home-style food at normal prices, but not in the evening. The reception was friendly, the bill fair. Only the opening hours could be better (in the afternoon only 16-18h, in the morning I forgot...). It's nice that you can stay until the afternoon for an extra €1 x 5.
