- Walter S.October 2023PozitívneLarge pitches in the middle of natureNegatívneThe visitor should be able to speak French and English. But that was no problemA nice, natural place to stayWe stayed at Le Giessen for five days at the end of October. A very friendly welcome at reception and we were also given the wristband for free entry to the neighboring indoor pool. We were allowed to choose our pitch. We found a very clean sanitary building. The site is suitable for easy and more challenging... hikes, excursions to the Vosges mountains, Alsace with its wine route and picturesque villages. Or simply enjoy the peace and quiet. As it was low season, we picked up our groceries in the neighboring Ville.
A corner worth recommending.Automaticky preložené. - Armin G.May 2019Very neat place with swimming poolWere here at the end of May, pre-season. Site is in good condition overall. The small stream and the public swimming pool next door (included) are great attractions for children on a weekend trip!Automaticky preložené.
- Tanja K.May 2018PozitívnePeace,NatureNegatívneIn the low season no kiosk or supermarket on site, no toilet paper in the toiletsSmall but mightyVery relaxed small campsite, very idyllic pitches by the river, a paradise for children. Public swimming pool for shared use. Great area for hiking. Friendly welcome.Automaticky preložené.
- Ulrich H.April 2017PozitívneIdeal starting point for hikesNegatívneNo breadBeautiful place in natureUnfortunately the swimming pool, which you are supposedly allowed to use, was closed over Easter. Nevertheless, a very nice place as a starting point for hikes. Unfortunately, it was relatively noisy due to youth groups and the sanitary facilities were not always clean. In addition, there is no bread on site and the local bakeries were closed over Easter.Automaticky preložené.
- Solange B.September 2014Pozitívnein this case NoneNegatívneBathroom can only be used to a limited extent. Actually a nice place, but unfortunately it lacks maintenance.2x stayIt is suggested that the municipal pool can always be used. 1. only by the hour, during our last stay from 04.09. to 08.09.14 not at all (the pool was being renovated, but nothing is written on the homepage). The disappointment was not only ours, there were also other guests who came especially for the... pool. The outdoor pool, which adjoins the municipal pool, could not be used during either of our stays. Courses take place in the pool, it is also used as a teaching pool, the camping guests are only allowed in for 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon, depending on the day. The site is unkempt, grass cuttings are simply left lying around. The sanitary facilities should be checked for functionality. The staff were always friendly, but you shouldn't be fooled by the pictures of the bathroom.Automaticky preložené.
- Frank H.July 2014PozitívneThe great locationNegatívneThe café could do with a few more dishes on the menu.Quality at a low priceThe pitch is of a very high standard, but costs no more than many pitches with significantly lower standardsAutomaticky preložené.
- dina p.July 2013I've been used to camping in a 4* caravan for 25 years, and I was very disappointed: a 4* caravan site has marked out pitches, water and sewage connections, a grocery store, and a solid room for entertainment. At Giessen, you have to look for your pitch yourself, risking making a mistake and taking a... pitch that isn't meant for you. There are no hedges to prevent neighbors from getting too close, and no water points. The animation room is made of canvas, so there's no soundproofing for the animations. Another recurring problem : lack of cleanliness in the toilets, no mat at the entrance to wipe feet, so there's mud and grass everywhere, because the floor of the toilets is continually wet, slippery, and therefore very dangerous, only 1 squeegee out of order for the 2 corridors, no meticulous cleaning, just a spray of water, no drying of the floor which makes it very slippery, traces of mould on the shower walls, no shelf to put shower gel or shampoo, too short timer on the toilets, the shower ends in darkness, there's only one washbasin with an electric socket for the hairdryer, a wastepaper basket with a rubbish bag as a garbage can, the Aquavallée is crowded in the afternoons, but only accessible in the mornings if you want to enjoy the peace and quiet so you can swim without being splashed or heckled, and without finding yourself towel against towel. The only positive point is the respect of entry and exit times for vehicles on the campsite, thanks to the rigorous presence of the security guards who operate in the evenings and at night. In conclusion, the only attraction of this campsite is its proximity to tourist sites, because the Giessen is in no way a 4-star campsite. As soon as we arrived, we noticed that the visitor parking lot was very badly maintained, with weeds everywhere.Automaticky preložené.
- Dan S.April 2013PozitívneNice place for familiesNegatívneNoneNice place for familiesWe stayed here with 2 families over Easter. There is nothing to complain about the site itself! The pitches are spacious, clean and level. Electricity distributors and water connections are easily accessible and plentiful. The staff are very friendly. There is a public swimming pool next to the site... with free access. The sanitary buildings were clean and in good order for their age. The village itself is very nice and there are bakeries and discount stores. We felt very comfortable there this weekend and would love to come back.Automaticky preložené.
- Anke S.August 2012We stayed at this campsite with our tent for a total of 2 weeks in the summer of 2012. The site itself is located in the village of Bassenberg, tucked away by a small stream and completely surrounded by forest on one side. On the other side is the municipal swimming center with indoor and outdoor pool,... which can be used free of charge by camping guests at any time. Our pitch for the tent was right next to the stream next to tall trees, not far from the sanitary building. The sanitary facilities are adequate and were cleaned several times a day during the high season. It was actually always clean there. For us Germans, however, the mixed toilets for men and women without toilet seats are absolutely unusual. There are plenty of wash cubicles and showers, even when fully occupied. We really liked the small bistro on site, which served delicious homemade pizzas at reasonable prices. You could also pre-order your bread or baguette there for the next day or hand in cold packs for the cool box to freeze. The playground and the play facilities in the large tent and by the stream, as well as the table tennis tables, were ample and popular. In the hot summer weather, we often spent time in the adjacent outdoor pool, where we really enjoyed ourselves. As in most outdoor pools in France, it is compulsory to wear swimming caps and swimming shorts or Bermuda shorts are prohibited. There are numerous possibilities for excursions in the Vosges, and the tourist resorts can be reached from Villé in a short time by car. Although there are no shopping facilities on site, there are several large supermarkets and numerous restaurants 4 km away in Villé. We can recommend the site for families with tents or caravans at any time and felt very comfortable there. We will certainly return there again.Automaticky preložené.
